Loro Parque Fundación is seeking a dedicated Conservation Officer to join our team.
Requirements:
Academic background in conservation biology, zoology, ecology, or related fields.
At least 2 years of experience in similar positions.
Proven experience in managing conservation projects and initiatives.
Fluent English is essential.
Strong ability to work effectively within a multicultural team.
Familiarity with IUCN tools and methodologies, such as the Red List or One Plan Approach, is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
Implementing the IUCN "Assess-Plan-Act" model to evaluate extinction risks, design conservation plans, and drive impactful actions.
Engaging in assessment processes such as the Red List, Key Biodiversity Areas, and situation analyses.
Collaborating with IUCN experts, government agencies, and NGOs to identify priorities and coordinate conservation efforts.
Organizing multi-stakeholder workshops and training sessions focused on conservation and planning.
Communicating outcomes and promoting conservation campaigns.
Supporting other duties relevant to the role.
